Horizontal Rule

Yinya
In terms of varietal and processing, Yinya is essentially Baozhong tea. However, the harvest is timed differently to include the buds of the tea plant as well as the leaves. This difference gives Yinya its name, which means ‘silver needle.’ Despite the stylistic similarities, the floral qualities of this tea are actually quite distinct from Baozhong and make for a very special and flavorful brew.

Premium Winter 2006 Yinya
This is my first acquisition of this rarely-produced tea. Late winter cold made it a good year for Yinya, which is picked later than typical Baozhong. This tea behaves much like spring Baozhong, with an overt bouquet and rich color, but the floral palate is distinct from any tea I've had before.
